The Benefits of Spices

“Spice,” is summed up in one word, however, it’s said that there are over 100 different kinds of spices around the world. Far beyond simply adding aroma to dishes, spices offer a variety of health benefits. They can stimulate appetite, aid digestion, and even have antibacterial properties, each spice providing its own unique effects. We’d like to highlight some of the spices we use here at Rin-Tei.

Turmeric: Activates liver function, offers antioxidant properties, improves skin health, and may help prevent Alzheimer’s disease.

Cinnamon:  Warms the body, improves blood circulation, enhances skin health, prevents cold extremities and swelling, has strong antioxidant properties, repairs capillaries, boosts skin metabolism, and offers anti-aging benefits.

Black Pepper: Known as the “king of spices,” it promotes blood circulation and helps alleviate cold extremities and swelling. Black, white, and green pepper offer the same benefits, as their color differences are due to processing methods.

Cumin: Aids digestion, detoxifies the body, stimulates appetite, promotes digestion, has antioxidant properties, boosts immunity, and may help prevent cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

Coriander: Helps reduce fever, stimulates appetite, and purifies the blood.

Cardamom: Known as the “king of aroma,” it has aromatic digestive properties, promotes digestion, and removes excess oils.

Sansho (Japanese Mountain Pepper): Promotes stomach health, has diuretic effects, and promotes detoxification through sweating.

As you can see, spices not only enhance the flavor and aroma of dishes, but they also offer a variety of benefits for beauty and health. While incorporating spices into your daily meals at home is a great idea, it’s not always easy to keep a wide variety on hand. At Rin-tei, you can enjoy a delicious meal while also benefiting from various spices, making both mind and body happy.
