Japanese Sake and Food Pairing

Japanese sake is an alcoholic drink that can be enjoyed in combination with various food.
Compared to other alcoholic drinks such as wine and whiskey, Japanese sake has a milder flavor but is rich in umami components derived from rice and rice malt. This creates a combination that is close to the food, while also serving to deepen the taste of the food.

Such a pairing of Japanese sake and food will be introduced by Rin-Tei's chef Yasu, who is qualified as an "Ibaraki Sake Meister".

The combination of Japanese sake and food varies, but typical patterns include:

"Harmony (between similar things)"

"Complement (make up for what is missing)"

 "Neutralize (counteract too strong taste)"

"Synergy (amplification of deliciousness)" and so on.

From among the infinite combinations, next time I will introduce Japanese sake to match Rin-Tei's food.
